We are seeking a Early Phase, Lead Biostatistician for a new, multi-year FSP contract with one of the world’s leading biotechnology companies. You will be a strong lead/manager dedicated to the FSP and to the client’s portfolio of work serving as the client’s primary point of contact and engaging in discussion about the maintenance and growth of the partnership over time.
You will have responsibility for resourcing projects, training and supervising Cytel FSP staff, performing general project management and assignments, addressing escalated project and performance issues, and ensuring staff engagement. While you not need to be a full time manager, but could be a hands-on lead, you could have direct line management responsibilities of 15 to 20 Biostatisticians, and will provide more project management and resource allocation than day-to-day support for biostatistics work. You will partner with client management to increase efficiency/productivity over the course of the partnership through training, simplifying process, use of technology, and sharing of best practices.
You will be located in our Waltham office but for the right candidate we can offer remote working.
Qualifications and Experience
You will have an MS or PhD with experience working on clinical trials. Expectations for this person include:
Strong Project Management experience
Early Phase Clinical trial experience
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Demonstrated strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize workload
The ability to handle large volume of complex tasks with minimal or no input from the sponsor
The ability to handle ad-hoc requests with minimal guidance
Additionally, we require:
A thorough understanding of statistical principles
Some knowledge of medical/biological terminology and clinical trial designs in relevant therapeutic areas
Conversant with SAS programming, and knowledge of SAS procedures and other statistical software
An effective communicator: able to explain methodology and consequences of decisions in lay terms
An effective team player; willingness to go the extra distance to get results, meet deadlines, etc.
Ability to be flexible when priorities change
Ability to deal with ambiguity
